MEDICAL SUPPLIES, HOSPITAL GOODS and TOOLS FOR MOZAMBIQUE

The Rotary Club of Noosa collected second hand tools of all descriptions that were needed for repairs and maintenance to a Central Hospital in Beira, Mozambique, Africa. Tools were in short supply in Mozambique where they have the labour but not the resources to undertake urgently needed repairs and maintenance to the city’s major hospital.

Sunrise Beach photographers John and Aliye Panos, who spend several months each year in Africa, enlisted the aid of Rotary District 9600’s Donations-in-Kind program and the Rotary Clubs of Noosa and Jindalee to ship containers of medical supplies and equipment from Brisbane to the Rotary Club of Beira.

Tools for carpentry and general maintenance were of great value in Mozambique to enable volunteer workers to improve the condition of Beira Central Hospital where funds and tools for this work are very limited.

The Rotary Club of Noosa was grateful for donations of tools via Bunnings Warehouse that will make a substantial difference to the conditions for patients in the hospital.
