Did you ever wonder whether you could swim 1000 metres (one kilometre) in the surf?

Well, Club member Sally Platt-Hepworth did as a competitor in the "Fossils" division of a Noosa Eyeline 1000 held at Noosa's Main Beach.
P.P. Ross Fisher, himself an accomplished athlete, coached Sally during early morning swims that contributed to her very respectable finishing time of 28.18 minutes (delayed by at least 3 minutes by "Tadpoles" who got in the way).
Riding for the Disabled benefited from the $450 raised by Sally while battling a rolling surf.
From the beach out to a buoy, around and back to  an a run along the beach, through a corral, back out to sea, around another buoy and back to the beach.
Phew, exhausting!!
Marathon swimming is not Sally's only activity as she is always there when Rotary is at work.

Does this mean that Sally will be using her new bright red scooter for home deliveries during our regular Sausage Sizzle fundraiser at Bunning's? Join us and find out.
Well Done, Sally!!  You are a legend.
